Overamped: Redirect AMP1.3.4

Overamped automatically redirects AMP website to their original version, effectively disabling AMP in Safari.

HOW IT WORKS
When opening a link from any source - including Google Search, Google News, Yahoo! JAPAN, any website, and native apps - Overamped will find and redirect to the canonical version automatically. This means it will work with all AMP and Yandex Turbo pages no matter how the page is opened.

OPEN NATIVE APPS
If you have the native app installed for a website that is redirected Overamped will automatically open the native app rather than the website.

SAFARI HISTORY
Websites redirected by Overamped won't appear in your history and going back or forward will never load the AMP or Yandex Turbo page.

DISABLE OVERAMPED FOR SPECIFIC WEBSITES
If you prefer the AMP or Yandex Turbo version of a website you can disable Overamped for any websites you choose.

STATISTICS
Overamped can display statistics, including how many AMP results have been found and how many redirections Overamped has performed. All statistics are collected and remain exclusively on-device.

PRIVACY
Overamped does not transmit any data off the device. This means that none of your data is shared, sold, or otherwise given to any third parties.

Version History • Replace Twitter links with Mastodon.

• Update with support for recent OS updates. 1.3.4 12/28/2025 Fixed Yahoo! JAPAN support. Links in search results will again be overridden and link to their original version. The Yahoo! JAPAN AMP viewer will also redirect to the original version of the webpage.

◦ I am working on adding support for this back in the future.
◦ This means that the AMP "popover" will be shown at the bottom of image results, but tapping "Visit" will still redirect to the original website.
• A new option has been added called "Redirect Only". This can be enabled in the unlikely event that Overamped ever causes issues with websites in the future.
• Overamped will now re-check the installation when refreshing the results of the Install Checker, removing false-negative results.

If you've enjoyed the AMP-free lifestyle Overamped has enabled please consider leaving a rating or review! 1.2.1 08/10/2022 Support for the Overamped Install Checker has been added, enabling a method of automatically checking if the Safari Extension is enabled and setup correctly.

The new install checker can be found in the About tab. 1.2.0 06/08/2022 A new option in the Settings allows for a notification to be posted whenever Overamped redirects an AMP or Yandex Turbo page in Safari.

Advanced Statistics now displays the most recent events and links to a screen that displays each event that has occurred and allows for the deletion of individual events.

The permissions model has been simplified. The "All Websites" will now be the only option shown when first installing the extension.

A new check has been added to find Google's AMP popover, which fixes Google Images still showing the AMP version of pages when tapped. 1.1.0 02/07/2022 This update includes a change that will hopefully prevent all recursive redirects, e.g. when a website automatically redirects to the AMP version. Unfortunately it's not possible to prevent the redirection to the AMP version but this fix should prevent the page repeatedly reloading.

A bug has also been fixed that would cause AMP Google News articles loaded after scrolling to the bottom to not be redirected. 1.0.3 11/30/2021 Thank you to everyone that has downloaded Overamped!

The release is a hotfix for changes to Google image searches. Clicking links will no longer open the AMP popover and the AMP popover should be removed from the bottom of the screen
